2023 Volkswagen Atlas

The 2023 Atlas has five trim levels, starting with the SE. It features classic lines and muscular sculpting accentuated by 18-inch alloy wheels that pair perfectly with all-season tires. You can also take advantage of keyless entry for the front doors and liftgate. The SE with Technology has 20-inch alloy wheels and adds a remote Easy Open liftgate with hands-free access, a remote engine start, and keyless entry for all of the doors and liftgate. On the SEL, you'll find a power tilt and sliding panoramic moonroof, and on the SEL R-Line Black, you'll notice sleek black exterior styling. Finally, the SEL Premium R-Line features sporty R-Line styling and 21-inch alloy wheels.

Pop open the Atlas SE's hood, and you'll find a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of producing 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine is also available in the SE with Technology and the SEL. If you go with the SEL R-Line Black or SEL Premium R-Line, you'll enjoy a 3.6-liter V-6 that generates 276 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. With that much power, the Atlas has the capacity to tow a trailer when properly equipped.

Both Atlas engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission that boosts output and efficiency while enabling seamless acceleration. When you want a more hands-on experience, you can engage the Tiptronic mode for manual shifting. Lower trims feature an agile front-wheel drive that makes it easy to maneuver through traffic, take tight turns, and merge onto busy highways. R-Line models have an all-wheel-drive system that sends power to all four wheels for maximum traction and stability. The system features selectable modes for driving through snow, on roads, and off-road.

The 2023 Atlas seats up to seven and gives you 96.8 cubic feet of cargo space when you fold the rear seats. Leatherette seating surfaces come standard, while the SEL Premium R-Line gets luxurious leather upholstery. Available amenities include front seats with heating and ventilation, second-row seating with heating, and ambient lighting. Lower trims feature a 6.5-inch touchscreen, while upper trim levels have an 8-inch touchscreen. Both displays are smartphone compatible, so you can stream music, get traffic updates, and make hands-free phone calls.

With the 2023 Volkswagen, you get a front assist system that can detect potential collisions with pedestrians and vehicles and apply the brakes when necessary. Adaptive cruise control helps maintain a safe driving distance, while an active blind-spot monitor lets you know when a vehicle enters your blind-spot zones. When driving in reverse, the rear traffic alert scans for cars approaching from either side of the Atlas. You can also take advantage of parking assistance, a dynamic road sign display, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
